Ryton Golf Club is seeking a part time Cook to join our team, working in a very friendly and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, along with experience in meal preparation and food preparation techniques. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that meet high standards of quality and presentation while ensuring a positive dining experience for our members and visitors.
Duties
Work independently to provide meals and hot snacks to members and visitors.
Ability to be flexible in supporting food preparation and cooking for functions.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Assist in the planning of menus, taking into account seasonal availability of ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including utensils, equipment, and work surfaces.
Collaborate with bar staff to ensure efficient meal service during busy periods.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages or issues to the kitchen manager.
Be aware of all food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Follow food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure safe handling of food at all times.
Be able to support bar staff if required.
Skills / Experience / Qualifications
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Own car / transport to be able to travel to and from the golf club.
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment including cooking for groups of 10+.
Proficiency in meal preparation and culinary techniques.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to maintain an efficient kitchen operation.
Team player with strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
A passion for cooking and creating high-quality dishes that encourage repeat customers.
