Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Home Cook to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for good home cooking suitable for the elderly and an understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that meet the needs of our residents.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and efficient workflow during busy periods. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste. Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to continually enhance your cooking skills.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation. A team player who can communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. A passion for cooking and helping others through the art of food preparation.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week
