We are looking for Part Time residential workers to join our team with the possibility of a full time position as the company expands. Our home is based in the South Ribble area close to Preston. The hours are 10am until 10am the following day. Your work pattern will include a sleep in.

Who we are



We are Second Nature Care, a children's residential service providing 24 hour care and support to children aged between 8 years up to 17 years, who display challenging behaviours and/ or emotional difficulties.

As a residential service we believe that our children deserve the best possible care and support that we can offer. Positive and meaningful relationships with our children are key to success in supporting attachments.

We understand that our children have suffered trauma and therefore we work with a trauma informed approach and follow the PACE parenting methods in order for our children to feel safe and secure, whilst supporting them to achieve good outcomes.

We are committed to providing our children with consistency of care and ensuring that they have lots of fun which will includes outings, educational excursions and supporting them with activities of their interests. We want our children and young people to enjoy themselves and develop positive life experiences and skills.

Could you work in a residential home?



Our children live with us usually due to adverse childhood experiences and trauma. Therefore you need to be committed to providing our children with a supportive and comfortable home whilst ensuring that they have the opportunity to access experiences and make memories which will promote their welfare and prepare them for adulthood.

Our children need to be looked after 24 hours a day 7 days per week. You will eat and sleep at the home with the children and young people and undertake household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. You will also need to help with school/ college work, supporting our children with activities and attending appointments such as GP and the dentist, supporting them in seeing their parents and other important family members and also be part of activities in the evening and at weekends. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference and support our children and young people towards having a bright future that they deserve whilst attending to their practical, physical and emotional needs. You will need to be committed to ensuring our children are provided with a safe home environment and that all safeguarding procedures are adhered to.

Our residential childcare practitioners will listen and engage with our children and young people. You will also support in keywork around their feelings, emotions and behaviour and you will work alongside other professionals such as social workers, school, the police and health workers to ensure our children's needs are met and their welfare is promoted.

What we need



Education

GSCE or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience

Residential Childcare 1 year (Required)

Supportive environment (Preferred)

Level 3 or 4 in Children's Residential Childcare (Preferred)

Licence/Certification

At least 1 year minimum Driving Licence (Required)

Pay: From 255.00 per day
