JOB PURPOSE



We are seeking a highly organised and meticulous Payroll and Finance Administrator to join our team. In this key role, you will provide accurate, efficient, and confidential administration across the organisation's payroll and finance functions, ensuring full compliance with legislation and internal policies.

Working closely with the Payroll Officer and Finance Business Partner, you will help deliver customer-focused, results-driven services that support the company's financial performance and contribute to our continued growth. This role requires precision, discretion, and a collaborative approach to supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders.

16-20 part time hours, salary pro rata for 20 hours = 14,324 per annum

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Process financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records in line with legislation, best practice, data protection requirements, and company procedures. Manage purchase orders and credit notes in accordance with approved processes and contract requirements. Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, managing bank accounts and reconciling transactions. Respond to queries from stakeholders, suppliers, and customers; reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies. Provide financial administration support and advice across business streams, ensuring compliance with financial procedures. Support the Payroll Officer with all payroll processing, including starters, leavers, tax codes, absences, student loans, and statutory payments. Maintain accurate payroll and employee records. Manage payroll-related queries from staff and management promptly and professionally. Produce payroll reports for management and audit purposes. Support year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds. Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection standards. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



Essential:

Proven experience in finance and payroll administration. Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero. Experience using HR/payroll systems. Experience handling statutory payments and deductions. Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements. Understanding of pension auto-enrolment and statutory reporting. Data protection and confidentiality practices.

SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS



Excellent numeracy and exceptional attention to detail. Strong IT skills, including Excel and finance/payroll software. Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. High levels of accuracy and confidentiality. Organised, methodical and able to prioritise effectively.
