An exciting opportunity to lead a brand-new, upscale children's home from day one.
We are looking for an
enthusiastic, passionate, experienced Children's Home Manager
to open, shape, and run a new residential service that will
support children aged 11-16, including those with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This role
requires the successful candidate to have held the responsibility of Registered Manager within the last 5 months
, ensuring up-to-date experience in leading a children's residential service.
About the Role
You will:
Lead on the opening, development, and day-to-day running of a brand-new children's home
Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
Build, motivate, and professionally develop a brand-new staff team
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and drive a strong safeguarding culture
Deliver high-quality care, planning, and outcomes for children aged 11-16, including those with LD and EBD needs
Work collaboratively with Local Authorities, health, education, and partner agencies
Manage budgets, resources, rotas, and administrative systems
Maintain a safe, well-presented home environment
About You
You must have:
Minimum 3 years' recent experience as a Manager in children's residential care
Held the responsibility of Registered Manager within the last 5 months
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
A strong understanding of Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), including relevant childcare legislation
Experience supporting or managing services for children with LD and/or EBD
Strong leadership skills and the ability to build a new team from the ground up
Proven organisational and decision-making skills
Excellent understanding of CHR 2015, safeguarding, and quality standards
Emotional resilience, professionalism, and a commitment to outstanding care
