Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly knowledgeable Registered Individual to oversee a brand-new satellite site comprising four children's homes, located on a private road in Wolverhampton. Collectively, the homes will provide care and support for up to six children with complex needs. This is a rare opportunity to help establish a new service, shaping its culture, standards, and outcomes from the outset. Alongside the Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the homes meet and exceed Ofsted requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Register with Ofsted as the Registered Individual for the satellite site, ensuring full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
Provide strategic oversight and governance of the four homes, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, care, and compliance are consistently achieved.
Support and supervise the Registered Manager, providing professional challenge, guidance, and accountability.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the homes, with a focus on achieving outstanding outcomes for children.
Maintain strong working relationships with Ofsted, local authorities, health, and education professionals.
Ensure effective policies, procedures, and governance frameworks are in place from the outset and consistently reviewed.
Monitor performance through audits, inspections, and direct engagement with staff and children, ensuring actions are followed through.
Be highly visible and accessible, offering support, leadership, and assurance across the service.
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (where required) or provide oversight of safeguarding arrangements.
Lead on building a brand-new staff team alongside the Registered Manager, ensuring the right values, resilience, and expertise are embedded.
Person Specification
Substantial experience as a Registered Individual, Responsible Individual, or in a senior oversight role within children's residential care.
In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted standards, and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
Proven ability to provide strong governance and hold Registered Managers accountable for high standards.
Experience of developing or opening new services would be highly advantageous.
Strong leadership, oversight, and quality assurance skills.
Flexible, resilient, and highly committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for children.
Excellent communication skills, with confidence in liaising with Ofsted, commissioners, and multi-agency partners.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent); higher-level qualifications advantageous.

Pay: 60,000.00-80,000.00 per year
