We are a group of small children's homes that have been running successfully for the past 15 years with excellent relationships with local authorities. Each home currently looks after up to three young people and we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Manager to join our team.
The vacancy is for a Ofsted Registered 2 bed home. It would be a really good career move for a candidate that is currently working in an assistant manager role or someone who is a senior support worker.
Job summary :
To safeguard and provide quality care for a group of vulnerable young people with emotional & behavioural difficulties and/or additional learning needs, within an Ofsted registered children's home.
Day to day responsibility of managing a staff team.
To be responsible for ensuring all paperwork and reports are completed to a high standard, on time and sent to social workers, local authorities, the Responsible Individual and Ofsted in a timely manner.
To be responsible for meeting care and financial targets as set by the RI and Directors.
As a Registered Manager you will need:
Minimum two years experience in a child care setting
NVQ 3 / Level 3 / Level 4 Diploma in Children's Residential Care or equivalent
NVQ 4 in Care (preferably children and young people) or equivalent
At least working towards level 5 Registered Managers Award
Experience of managing snd supervising staff
A sound understanding of safeguarding and an ability to ensure high standards of safeguarding practice in the staff team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills with ability to use basic windows packages
The ability to stay calm in stressful situations
To be able to engage positively with the young people
Hold a full driving license is preferred
As you will be working with vulnerable children full references and an enhanced DBS will be completed before you start to work.
