SEND Teaching Assistant

Complete Classroom Services is working in partnership with a specialist primary school in Guildford to recruit a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting September 2025. The school is trialling suitable candidates as soon as possible, so early applications are encouraged.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils aged 5-11 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You'll be working in small class settings alongside a supportive team of specialist staff to help deliver a tailored curriculum that promotes academic, social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

Assist with the implementation of personalised learning plans.

Support behaviour management strategies in a positive, therapeutic way.

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

Promote a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or other SEND (desirable).

A calm, patient and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners.
