An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream school. This long-term temporary role offers the chance to support pupils with additional needs, helping them thrive both academically and socially within a nurturing environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers to provide tailored support to pupils with SEND. This includes assisting with learning activities, implementing individual education plans, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring that every child has access to the curriculum. There may also be occasions where you provide small group or one-to-one support to help pupils achieve their targets.
Who We're Looking For
This role would suit someone with previous experience of supporting children with additional needs, either within a school setting or from a background in care, support work or health and social care. A Teaching Assistant qualification is essential for this position. Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for helping pupils reach their potential are key qualities for success in this role.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm. Both full-time and part-time applications are welcome.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
