Key Responsibilities of a SEND Teaching Assistant

Provide

1:1 support

and small group learning for pupils with a variety of SEND. Work closely with teachers,

SENCOs

, and external professionals to deliver personalised learning and

EHC plans

. Adapt resources and activities to ensure inclusive and engaging learning. Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional well-being. Participate in wider school life, including enrichment activities and team meetings.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or SEND training (desirable but not essential).

Experience:

Previous work as a

Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Teaching Assistant

, or similar role.

Skills:

Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and adaptability.

Knowledge:

Familiarity with

PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, or behaviour support

is beneficial but not required.
