Overview

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead Element\xe2\x80\x99s cyber threat intelligence and threat hunting capability. As a key member of the Cyber Defence Leadership team, you will work closely with the Global Head of Cyber Defence and Senior Manager, Incident Response to implement how Threat Intelligence will be used across the business. You will also build the foundations for the integration of threat intelligence and vulnerability management. The role holder will write and implement Element\xe2\x80\x99s Global Threat Intelligence Policies and have full autonomy for Standard Operating Procedures. An initial objective will be to produce high quality strategic reporting to help the Operating Board (OB) understand threats and vulnerabilities to Element. You will lead and shape a team that will help drive the wider Cyber Security Strategy.

Location in the UK is flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a global Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) capability. Implement threat information sharing best practice in line with NIST and other industry frameworks
  • Hire and develop a team of cyber security subject matter experts. Be accountable for team development plans and career progression paths
  • Develop Global Cyber Security Policies and Procedures as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other metrics
  • Exploit internal and external sources of information to identify and evaluate threats and vulnerabilities that pose a risk to Element. Be the Cyber Defence Lead for reporting and driving threat and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ensure good collaboration and support to Incident Response and the Security Operations Centre (SOC). Drive operational and tactical actions and feed into Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) signature development
  • Be fully accountable for providing regular Board level Strategic Threat Intelligence verbal briefings and written reports
  • Work closely with external partners and vendors to ensure best value for money Threat Intelligence services
  • Be a proactive and engaged member of Element\xe2\x80\x99s Cyber Security team. Act as an ambassador and role model for your team, for Cyber Defence and for the company
  • Build positive working relationships across internal teams and especially across the Digital Technology Group (DTG). Look for opportunities to engage with intelligence sharing communities, peer organisations, governments and law enforcement agencies
Skills / Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in cyber security. Experience in cyber threat intelligence.
  • Experience of in working within a complex highly federated organisation. A comprehensive understanding of cyber defence operations in both the public and private sectors.
  • Ability to demonstrate the creation of strategic threat intelligence, operational intelligence, and tactical remediation of cyber threats.
  • A strong understanding of security technologies (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, EDR, WAF, IDS).
  • Cultural sensitivity and social flexibility in a global corporate environment.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and efficient problem solving.
  • Experience in proactive communication to, and direct interaction with senior staff. Good business acumen with the ability to convey complex information to a non-technical audience.
  • A highly self-motivated individual with positive mindset and can-do attitude. A strong believer of security as an enabler to support business growth.
  • Confident ability to review/write designs, reports, procedures and standards.
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and trends.
  • Content to step outside the threat intelligence domain in order to achieve success across Cyber Security.
