This role will be responsible for managing global marketing campaigns for a diverse range of titles, which could include feature films, documentaries, TV series, live events (eg. musicals/stand-up comedy) and other content. The successful applicant will develop campaigns to drive commercial success across all platforms (Theatrical/Home Entertainment/SVOD/TV), creating materials, managing budgets, liaising with third parties and managing stakeholders to create world-class integrated marketing & PR plans, globally.

This role will be responsible for some of the highest profile releases on the UPCG slate. They will work closely with multiple departments internally, located in both the US and the UPCG Head Office in London. Departments you will work with include the wider marketing team, PR and Digital teams, Acquisitions, Content Strategy, Theatrical Distribution partners, TV Distribution, Operations and Legal teams.

As one of the most senior roles within the UPCG marketing team, the ideal candidate leads by example and is driven and passionate, cascading their vision and influence amongst their colleagues.

The successful candidate will build relationships with filmmaker/licensors/talent, sharing campaign plans capably and confidently, collaborating with key stakeholders and keeping them continually appraised of developments.

Key to this role are first-rate strategic and time management skills, a flexible and committed attitude, excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to think both commercially and creatively about our releases, building innovative campaign strategies to maximise commercial potential.

Please note this role is a fixed-term contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaign Management:

  • Build and execute global marketing strategy and campaigns (including dating, release platforms, creative, distribution and financial analysis) for each title\'s global/international release
  • Deliver effective, creative, integrated campaigns which maximise the commercial potential of all available rights (Theatrical, Home Entertainment, SVOD, TV)
  • Originate and/or adapt creative assets to support marketing strategy, including trailers, key art and ATL/BTL materials to be rolled out globally
  • Brief and develop marketing plans that consider the commercial potential and nuances of each territory
  • Brief, manage and direct external agencies (i.e. creative, media, social, promotions) to build the most effective and creative campaign
  • Work closely with our internal PR and digital teams to build considered, integrated briefs
  • Manage available marketing funds, ensuring budgets are adhered to and tracked
  • Evaluate campaigns post-release to review effectiveness, analyse results, review and learn, and make necessary adjustments to future plans where appropriate.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external departments/partners (e.g. Acquisitions, PR, Content Strategy, Operations, Distribution, Legal teams as well as external agencies) to deliver seamless distribution and best-in-class campaigns
  • Build strong relationships with filmmakers/producers/licensors/talent
  • Represent UPCG at key stakeholder meetings, delivering key information in a passionate and professional manner
  • Gain internal and external approvals of creative assets and campaign planning, in collaboration with Legal
  • Support global partners (OpCo\'s, TVD teams and sublicense partners) in devising their release strategies, providing support/assistance via regular communication to help maximise the commercial opportunity of each title by territory
  • Provide marketing campaign and performance summaries to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage one full time direct report
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience within a marketing team and managing own projects - ideally within film/entertainment/theatrical/streamer and/or home entertainment, with sound knowledge of how consumers access our content - cinema, digital, SVOD and TV
  • First-rate project management skills - able to develop and manage a complex critical path and multiple priorities
  • Persuasive communicator who builds relationships with both internal and external contacts, ability to work across functions and influence at all levels of the business.
  • Previous line management experience including, but not limited to; performance appraisals, regular 121\'s, ongoing day to day support, career development support.
  • Confident and credible presenter, able to inspire when presenting to both small and large groups
  • Able to demonstrate innovation and imagination in approach to marketing campaigns
  • Solid experience in managing media agencies/budgets/campaigns
  • Committed and flexible team player, who can adapt to requirements within the team
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Good commercial understanding and acumen
  • Experience of managing campaign budgets
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • A passion for film/entertainment

  • Good Commercial Understanding & Adept Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of all aspects of film/documentary marketing with track record of devising and executing innovative, integrated marketing campaigns. Ability to forecast and budget accordingly.
  • Organized Self-Starter: Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise. Uses project critical path to ensure all campaign planning is on time and proactively notifies stakeholders where there could be risk.
  • Flexible: Enthusiastic to work across multiple genres and styles of content
  • Strong Collaborator: Committed team player, who can adapt to requirements within the team. Able to maintain strong working relationships with internal departments based in both the US and London offices, as well as external stakeholders (eg filmmakers/talent/licensors/agencies)
  • Adept Communicator: Operate as a content evangelist and market expert to both internal and external partners. Able to manage communication across multiple time zones and occasional flexibility beyond standard business hours.
  • Creative Thinker: Lead on ideas, approaches and oversee creation and execution of creative materials/initiatives suitable for global markets.
  • Management Experience: Some people manager experience desirable but not essential
  • A passion for film/entertainment
