We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in food service.
Duties
Prepare and serve a range of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
Assist customers with their orders, offering product recommendations and upselling where appropriate
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area in accordance with food safety regulations
Restock shelves and display cases as needed to ensure product availability
Operate slicing machines, warmers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Follow all food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times
Manage cash register transactions accurately and efficiently
Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service during busy periods
Experience
Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is advantageous
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is desirable
Basic maths skills are necessary for handling transactions and measuring ingredients
Kitchen or culinary experience will be considered an asset
Strong time management skills are essential to prioritise tasks effectively and maintain efficiency during busy hours

Monday: 6:30am - 14:00
Tuesday 10:00am - 13:00
Saturday 7:30am - 13:00
