We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Duties

Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients as directed by the head chef or cook. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and free from hazards. Support the culinary team in cooking tasks, including assisting with catering events as needed. Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure the highest quality of food is served. Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper labelling and rotation to minimise waste. Participate in cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances regularly to maintain a hygienic workspace. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. A genuine passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
