Location:

Remote, with regular travel across Greater London and Bedfordshire

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and passionate

Social Care Consultant

to provide strategic guidance, oversight, and support across children's residential homes throughout Greater London. This senior consultancy role gives you the opportunity to directly influence service quality and outcomes for children and young people. You will act as a trusted advisor to Registered Managers and senior leaders, embedding safeguarding best practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across all services.

Key Responsibilities:



Ensure all homes meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Provide professional consultancy, coaching, and mentoring to Registered Managers. Lead safeguarding practices, embedding safe, transparent, and accountable standards of care. Support services through Ofsted inspections, achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes. Advise on operational efficiency, including staffing structures, budgets, and resource management. Build strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Support workforce development, training, and performance management to build skilled, confident teams. Promote a culture of reflection, accountability, and continuous learning.

About You:



At least 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards). Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and compliance standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven track record of influencing practice and raising service standards. Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel throughout Greater London and Bedfordshire.
