Location:

Remote, with regular travel across the South (including Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and surrounding areas)

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Social Care Consultant

to provide strategic leadership, expert guidance, and operational oversight across multiple children's residential homes in the South East.

This high-impact role blends strategic governance with hands-on support, giving you the opportunity to directly influence the standard of care provided to vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert consultancy and leadership across several residential children's homes. Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015. Coach and mentor Registered Managers to deliver excellent, child-centred care. Lead safeguarding initiatives, embedding safe, transparent, and accountable practice. Oversee and support Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' and 'Outstanding' outcomes. Promote a culture of reflection, professional growth, and continuous improvement. Advise on budgets, staffing, and resource management to ensure sustainable operations. Build strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulators. Support workforce training, development, and performance management.
About You

We're looking for someone who is motivated, experienced, and passionate about improving children's lives. You'll bring:

Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience in children's residential care (essential). NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve). Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and Quality Standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. A genuine passion for achieving the best outcomes for children and young people. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South East.
