Social Care Consultant - Ofsted Children's Residential Services



Location:

Remote, with regular travel across the South East

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced leader with the vision and expertise to shape the future of children's residential care? We are looking for a skilled Social Care Consultant to provide strategic leadership, expert guidance, and improvement support across multiple children's residential homes in the South East.

This senior position offers the opportunity to influence services at a strategic level, strengthen safeguarding, embed regulatory excellence, and empower Registered Managers to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure services consistently meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Provide high-quality consultancy, mentoring, and professional support to Registered Managers. Lead on safeguarding and embed safe, transparent, and accountable practices across all homes. Guide services through Ofsted inspections, targeting 'Good' or 'Outstanding' ratings. Advise on operational effectiveness, including staffing structures, budgets, and resource management. Build and sustain strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Lead workforce development, training, and performance management initiatives. Foster a culture of reflection, accountability, and continuous improvement.
About You

Minimum of 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards). Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and Quality Standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and advisory skills. Proven track record of driving improvement and achieving measurable impact. Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the South East. A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional care and outcomes for children and young people.
