Duties

Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service during busy periods. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and production. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation standards. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures. Help manage inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Address any issues that arise during service promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within a restaurant environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. A passion for hospitality and providing an exceptional dining experience for guests. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
