Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, particularly in Japanese cuisine, and must possess a keen understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.

Duties

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, ensuring each dish meets our restaurant's quality standards. Assist in the overall meal preparation process, including the selection and preparation of fresh ingredients. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Help develop new sushi recipes and menu items to enhance our offerings and attract more customers. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques related to sushi preparation. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new techniques is highly desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Graduate

Pay: 14.67-14.83 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 48 per week
