Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of sushi techniques. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are adhered to. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation. Assist in meal preparation by preparing ingredients such as rice, fish, vegetables, and sauces. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods. Help train junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices. Keep the kitchen area clean and organised, adhering to health and safety regulations. Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate new ideas into the menu as appropriate.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting is essential. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills related to sushi making. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse kitchen environment. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques is highly desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 11.44-13.59 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
