Responsibilities

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation. Execute food preparation tasks efficiently while adhering to established recipes and portion sizes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on sushi trends and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings. Provide excellent service by engaging with customers when necessary, sharing knowledge about sushi types and preparation methods.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment. Strong culinary skills with specific experience in sushi making preferred. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in meal preparation. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly in fast-paced settings. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards before serving. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as needed.
