We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high standards of quality and taste. Assist in the overall kitchen operations, including food preparation and meal assembly. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. Help develop new sushi recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Train junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and best practices.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and culinary techniques related to sushi preparation. Familiarity with various types of fish, seafood, and other ingredients used in sushi making. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen environment.
