Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare naan dough, kebabs, tikkas, rotis, parathas, and other ingredients for tandoor cooking
- Operate tandoor oven to bake flatbreads, grill meats, poultry, seafood and vegetables
- Monitor cooking times and temperature controls to ensure food safety and proper doneness
- Slice, dice, grind and tenderize meats and vegetables for marination and grilling
- Create spice mixes and prepare marinades and chutneys for tandoor items
- Maintain a clean and organized tandoor station meeting all sanitation and safety standards
- Manage tandoor oven temperature, cleaning, and maintenance
- Adhere to recipes and standard portion sizes for all menu items
- Keep an inventory of supplies and ingredients and inform chef of any shortages
- Assist with plating dishes and checking quality and presentation before service
- Comply with all kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Tandoor chef
- Knowledge of tandoor cooking methods and Indian cuisine
- Skill in preparing naan, kebabs, tikkas, rotis and other dishes
- Manual dexterity and stamina to stand for extended periods
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Dedication to food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 12.50-14.00 per hour
