We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tandoori Chef for
our Indian authentic restaurant to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all
pre marination, cooking techniques with tandoor clayoven and creativity of new dishes
, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained consistently. The Chef will be instrumental in inspiring the team, developing innovative menus, and upholding the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation meet established standards
Develop and innovate menu concepts in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene across all kitchen areas
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
Train staff on food safety procedures, cooking techniques, and service standards
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving within the kitchen environment
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary setting
Extensive food production knowledge with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on organisation and communication
Experience working in hospitality or restaurant environments with a focus on high-quality service delivery
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under pressure during peak hours
Strong knowledge of culinary trends and innovative menu development
Competence in serving guests directly when required, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction
