We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandoori Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine, particularly in preparing authentic tandoori dishes, and possess leadership qualities to oversee kitchen operations. This role involves menu planning, food preparation, and managing kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences in a fine dining or catering environment. The Tandoori Chef will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while ensuring efficient kitchen management.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook authentic tandoori dishes with precision and consistency, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and managing shift workflows.
Plan menus that highlight traditional and innovative tandoori offerings, catering to diverse dietary needs.
Manage inventory control and food safety protocols to minimize waste and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Lead food production activities for banquets, catering events, or fine dining services, maintaining high-quality standards.
Supervise food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaborate with restaurant management on menu planning, food service management, and overall kitchen operations.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on culinary techniques, food safety practices, and customer service standards.
Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
Qualifications
Proven experience in Indian cuisine with a focus on tandoori cooking; banquet or fine dining experience preferred.
Supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment; team management skills essential.
Strong background in food production, culinary arts, and kitchen management within the food industry or hospitality sector.
Knowledge of inventory management, inventory control, and food safety regulations.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent organizational skills.
Experience in menu planning, catering, restaurant management, and shift management is highly desirable.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
