Your Role as Team Leader
You'll combine frontline support with on-shift leadership to create a safe, therapeutic and nurturing home environment.
Support for Young People
Build trusting, therapeutic relationships through consistent keywork.
Encourage daily routines, education, and positive engagement.
Use trauma-informed approaches to promote emotional resilience.
Contribute to placement plans, risk assessments and safeguarding strategies.
Liaise with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
Leadership and Team Development
Lead 3-4 shifts per week, setting clear expectations and structure.
Deliver thorough handovers and delegate tasks effectively.
Supervise, mentor and support Support Workers and agency staff.
Foster a reflective, positive and values-led culture.
Safeguarding and Compliance
Respond effectively to incidents, disclosures, and risks.
Lead debriefs and promote learning after challenges.
Oversee medication, logbooks, incident reports and household safety.
Monitor safeguarding issues such as absconding, bullying or exploitation.
Ensure accurate and timely record keeping.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 2 years' experience in residential childcare or a related setting.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards it).
Confident, compassionate leadership with emotional resilience.
Strong safeguarding knowledge and trauma-informed practice.
Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
