Witham Specialist Vehicles Ltd is an established company specialising in the sale and marketing of ex-government, military, and specialist vehicles, plant, and equipment. We are entering an exciting new phase of growth and are looking for a capable, motivated individual to join our team.
The Role
We are seeking a Transport Coordinator to manage the movement of vehicles and equipment from UK sites to our facility.
This is a busy and varied position requiring excellent organisational skills, strong communication, and the ability to liaise confidently with site personnel and external haulage companies.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact with site personnel to arrange the collection of assets.
Liaise with external hauliers to organise vehicle collections and deliveries.
Communicate effectively with drivers to ensure all instructions and documentation are accurate.
Prepare and verify collection and delivery paperwork.
De-brief drivers and process return paperwork promptly and accurately.
Maintain and update transport logs, spreadsheets, and other records.
Produce management and customer reports as required.
Record information in order to align with KPI's
Handle data entry, filing, and general administrative duties.
About You
To be considered for this position, you should have:
Experience in transport coordination or logistics administration.
Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with drivers, hauliers, and customers.
Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
Strong IT and spreadsheet (Excel) skills.
A proactive, commercially minded approach and the ability to manage workloads independently.
Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
Knowledge of transport legislation (driver hours, vehicle compliance) - advantageous.
An interest in vehicles or MOD equipment - desirable.
