With a wide range of vehicles from a small van to 44 tonners, D.A.W Logistics Ltd can cater for all types of transport requirements, aiming to provide a fast, friendly, reliable and competitive service for everyone.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our team. this role is initially for 3 days per week and salary would be on a pro-rata basis, but will lead to a full time position for the right person. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimising transport operations and ensuring efficient movement of goods. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Transport Planner will work closely with the Director and Drivers

For the right person there will also be the opportunity to progress and become a transport manager with in the business and training and qualifications will be provided and support throughout the journey.

Duties

Develop and implement transport plans that maximise efficiency and minimise costs. Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods. Communicate effectively with customers to understand their transport requirements and provide exceptional customer service. Manage relationships with external transport providers and negotiate contracts as necessary. Utilise software tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and other IT applications for planning and reporting purposes.

Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships. Be an integral part of a small team in the office and liaise with drivers High level of computer literacy and IT proficiency. Strong command of English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Previous experience in transport planning or logistics is advantageous but not essential.
The role is ever evolving and no two days are the same, some days can be challenging but we always manage to create a positive outlook.
