Tyneside and Northumberland Mind are looking to recruit an effective, highly motivated, and confident
Trauma Intervention Service Manager
to join their highly skilled team. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic counselling service and will have clinical supervision provided.
The Trauma Intervention Service Manager
role requires a supportive and knowledgeable person, with professional and compassionate leadership skills, who has a commitment to provide effective support and therapeutic counselling to our clients. This Is a new role to work with children and young people who have experienced trauma and are Identified as at risk. The role will include assessment and allocation of counsellors to clients, empowering the trauma team and developing their skills, with a mixed caseload of 1-2-1 counselling. Up to date knowledge of trauma Informed practice is expected for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advise to the clinical team on trauma related matters.
Managing and supporting members of the counselling team
Ensure the quality of the output of the counselling project meets both ethical and service specific standards.
Conduct telephone assessment and allocate counsellors.
Be the point of contact for clinical questions from the counselling team.
Assist the Head of Service /Data Governance and Risk Manager with the collation of data and producing reports for the counselling services.
Be involved in the design and implementation of new counselling services.
Be the POC for clinical risk management of clients including CYP, vulnerable adults and sanctuary seekers.
Provide a range of counselling modalities to clients from across the counselling services.
Conduct regular audits with the HOS of the CRM system and ensure that it is being used effectively.
Conduct regular reviews of the counsellor's private notes/use of CRM
Attend and contribute to external and contract meetings with commissioners and other stakeholders
Expectations
Attend and contribute to meetings including counselling team, management team, board meetings and whole staff team events.
Be the point of contact for sessional/contract counsellors
Ensure that all responsibilities and activities discharged within this post are consistent with the terms and spirit of Tyneside and Northumberland Mind's policies.
The nature of the post will require flexibility in terms of ways of working to deliver on objectives.
The post holder is expected to travel to meetings throughout Tyneside and our area of beneficiary which may Include Cumbria and County Durham, plus occasional working of unsociable hours.
Qualifications
Essential
Qualified to at least degree level (level 5) in counselling.
Supervisor Qualification (or working towards).
Significant Experience of working with children and young people (3 years post qualification -minimum of 500 hours experience - primary and secondary).
Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).
Ability to carry out telephone counselling and Telephone assessments.
BACP/UKCP accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist.( or working towards).
Experience of effectively contributing to Information Governance standards across an organisation.
Experience of partnership working.
Experience and Knowledge of different modalities of counselling, specifically trauma informed, creative media and other talking therapies.
Knowledge and experience of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and risk
Adept at using ICT including Microsoft applications.
Ability to use a Case Records Management system and extract statistical reports.
Experience of line managing staff.
Desirable
Experience of working at a senior level within a talking therapy service.
Experience of dealing with public sector commissioners.
Experience of working with trauma.
Experience of working with GPs and practice managers.
Driving License.

Conditions of employment
In the light of legislation [Section 8 Asylum and Immigration Act, January 1997], as a condition of being able to commence employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide documentation to prove that they are able to work in the UK. Probation
The probation period of this role is 6 months.
Expenses
Out of pocket expenses will be payable at rates set out in Tyneside and Northumberland Mind's expenses policy.
Holidays
On joining, pro rata on a 24 working days per annum (plus Bank Holidays). Thereafter, the holiday entitlement increases depending on length of service. (The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March.)
