About the Organisation

Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is the world's oldest continually running film festival and, in 2024, relaunched as a brand new entity with a new board of industry leaders. Honouring 70+ years of festival history, EIFF showcases the very best filmmaking talent in a re-energised format that is rooted in a local Scottish context whilst embracing the international diversity of creative expression. Helmed by CEO & Festival Director Paul Ridd and Festival Producer Emma Boa, the team works to create a world-class showcase for independent film and filmmaking talent.

About the Role

EIFF Venue Coordinators support the smooth running of Festival screenings and events that take place at partner venues. Based between the Cameo Cinema, Filmhouse, Vue Omni, National Galleries of Scotland and our Festival Hub at Tollcross Central Hall, they will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of screenings and events taking place at these venues and acting as the main point of contact between EIFF, venue staff/Fringe venue partners, Front of House and Box Office staff.

Supported by the Programme Manager, Venue Coordinators will work closely with venue staff to coordinate and stage-manage screenings and events, including liaising with guests and hosts and onsite technical support; troubleshooting any issues arising in advance of, or during, EIFF programme delivery; supporting staff in their work at the venue, and raising any technical or production related issues with relevant members of the wider Festival team.

Venue Coordinators work within the Programme Planning team, including Programme Coordinators and the Submissions team, and in collaboration with the Technical team. The Programme Planning team is responsible for researching and securing films, planning and scheduling screenings and events; ensuring that all other parties have the information, instructions, materials and additional support they need to implement the programme effectively, and production managing live events. Programme Planning is EIFF's central operational control unit.
