We are looking for an experienced, hard-working, passionate, and upbeat person to join our fantastic team at at Ffos Caerffili.

Ffos Caerffili is a vibrant market bringing together independent traders, food vendors, and community activity in the heart of Caerphilly. The role of the Venue Manager will be to ensure Ffos runs smoothly day to day, looks great, feels welcoming, and that traders and customers have a positive experience every time they visit.

It is operated by Town Square Spaces Ltd. and Crafty Legs Events. TownSq are a B Corp who support freelancers, new company directors and aspiring entrepreneurs in starting-up, raising investment and growing their businesses. Crafty Legs have a wide network of market traders, and host a significant number of pop-up events around the South Wales region.

We are looking for someone who is confident and competent in maximising the potential of Ffos Caerffili, with entrepreneurial flair and a drive to create something very special.

Main Responsibilities:

Trader and Market Management

- Being the main point of contact for all traders, maintaining high standards, keeping the market full, and fostering a positive collaborative culture amongst the trading community.

Events and Community Activation

- Working with our events partners and marketing team to deliver a regular programme of events that increase footfall and bring the space to life, whilst supporting community groups to use the market for their own activities.

Marketing and Communications

- Supporting the marketing team by keeping signage and noticeboards current, providing content for social media, and being proactive about promoting Ffos through flyer drops and content creation.

Venue and Supplier Management

- Conducting regular site checks, managing relationships with key suppliers such as cleaners and security, overseeing access management, and taking ownership of the overall presentation and atmosphere of Ffos.

Reporting and Administration

- Maintaining accurate records, keeping TownSq systems up to date, submitting monthly reports on occupancy, events, and performance, and supporting the admin team with invoicing and compliance.

Team Coordination

- Managing and coordinating rotas of other staff including hosts and facilities personnel.

Personal Specification:

You will be experienced in creating inclusive, welcoming and comfortable spaces for people to gather, work and collaborate. You will have a keen eye for detail, a nose for customer service and be a natural host. You will also get excited about creating and implementing ideas and campaigns to get people involved with the space. You will be approachable, responsive, proactive, and able to think on your feet to quickly resolve issues. You will have the ability to manage multiple priorities across traders, events, and day-to-day operations.

Previous experience of management roles within the hospitality / retail industry is preferred, but not essential. You should also have a good knowledge of Caerphilly and the surrounding areas, and how Ffos Caerffili fits into the existing ecosystem. Attitude is key: if you are willing to think creatively and take ownership of making Ffos a thriving destination, you are already at an advantage.

Job Details:

Job Type: Full time

Salary: 32,000 - 34,000 per year, depending on experience, plus opportunities to earn bonuses.

Holidays: 30 days holiday (inclusive of bank holiday allocation)

Hours: Typical hours will be 9am - 5pm Tuesday - Saturday, with some variation for large events and bank holidays.
