About Gorilla

We're now looking for a
Venue Manager
who lives and breathes music and understands what it takes to make a live venue run smoothly -- from load-in to last orders. You'll be an operational leader with a technical mindset, capable of managing people, production, and the moving parts that keep Gorilla at the top of its game.
The Role
As Venue Manager, you'll be responsible for the smooth, safe, and efficient running of Gorilla's day-to-day operations,
reporting directly to the General Manager
. You'll lead our front-of-house team, support technical and production delivery, and ensure that artists, promoters, and customers all get the best possible experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all venue operations -- including live events, club nights, and hospitality service.
Manage and support teams across bar, floor, tech, and security.
Work closely with promoters, tour managers, and technical staff to ensure seamless show delivery.
Manage compliance, licensing, health & safety, and maintenance across the venue.
Lead on training, and staff development.
Maintain high standards of presentation, sound, and safety across every event.
Monitor budgets, cost controls, and stock management.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of systems, tech infrastructure, and venue performance.
About You
Experienced in venue or live event management -- ideally within a music-led or multi-use space.
Confident in live operations and event logistics (understanding of sound, lighting, and technical setups a huge plus).
A natural leader who can motivate diverse teams under pressure.
Detail-oriented, hands-on, and calm when it matters most.
Knowledgeable about licensing, safety, and compliance requirements.
Passionate about Manchester's live scene and committed to delivering top-tier experiences for artists and audiences alike.
