Job Description

MK11 is a busy, high-energy live music venue and sports bar delivering hundreds of shows each year. We are looking for a confident, highly organised Venue Manager who leads from the front and ensures every night runs smoothly, safely and professionally.

This role is central to the operational success of MK11 -- including keeping the venue clean, tidy and presentable at all times. Strong hospitality/event experience, excellent leadership skills, and a calm, problem-solving attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

Lead the day-to-day running of the venue during events and busy evenings/weekends. Oversee bar operations, stock checks and wholesale ordering. Ensure smooth opening, running and closing of each shift, including end-of-night reporting. Manage the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of the venue and staff-only areas, ensuring all areas remain tidy, safe and well-presented before, during and after events. Carry out minor venue upkeep tasks and coordinate contractors (plumbers / cellar technicians etc) when required.

Team Leadership & Coordination

Supervise and support 2-10 bar staff per shift. Liaise professionally with production teams (2-6 staff) and security teams (2-8 staff) and artists (1-15 people). Provide onboarding, HMRC paperwork and staff training support. Promote a positive, friendly and proactive working culture.

Compliance, Safety & Standards

Ensure staff follow licensing laws, health & safety requirements and venue procedures. Deliver or arrange staff training in line with compliance needs. Support food hygiene, first aid, fire safety and emergency procedures. The ideal candidate will be able to introduce and implement their own procedures to certain venue operations.

Events & Customer Experience

Coordinate with directors to ensure events run to plan. Maintain exceptional customer service standards and provide on the go top-up training to staff when required. Troubleshoot issues quickly and professionally. Support artist hospitality and front-of-house service.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Essential: hospitality management experience, event/venue operations experience. Desired certifications: First Aid, Food Hygiene, Fire Marshal.
