Role Overview
As Venue Manager of BattleKart Sheffield, you will be the driving force behind the venue's success - leading daily operations, managing a multi-attraction environment, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. You'll be responsible for a diverse team, maintaining operational excellence, and maximising commercial performance. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires energy, attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities
? Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations across multiple attractions, ensuring seamless running of all experiences, including karting, bar, and event spaces.
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of shift supervisors, hosts, and technical staff.
Be present during all busy periods, including evenings and weekends, ensuring standards are upheld under pressure.
You will be required to report to the Directors of the Company for major decisions relating to commercial and franchise matters. As much freedom will be given to the role as practicable.
? Team Management & Training
Recruit, train, and develop staff following BattleKart's structured training programme.
Foster a positive, high-performance culture built on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
Ensure all staff adhere to safety, operational, and brand standards.
? Customer Experience
Maintain a consistently high standard of service and safety across all attractions.
Resolve guest issues swiftly and effectively, ensuring every visitor leaves with a great impression.
Monitor venue presentation and cleanliness, taking pride in the BattleKart brand experience.
? Commercial Growth
Drive sales through events, corporate bookings, partnerships, and local marketing initiatives.
Build strong relationships with local businesses and community partners.
Work with head office to implement promotions and track performance targets.
? Maintenance & Compliance
Ensure the venue and equipment are maintained to BattleKart's exacting standards.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers to manage repairs, servicing, and upgrades.
Uphold health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and operational procedures.
? Franchise Liaison
As the manager of a franchised venue, you will maintain a strong working relationship with BattleKart International.
This will involve regular communication with the franchisor on a wide range of topics including technical updates, marketing campaigns, new product activations, operational policies, and ongoing training.
You will act as the key link between the local operation in Sheffield and the wider BattleKart network, ensuring brand consistency, knowledge sharing, and smooth implementation of franchise standards and initiatives.
About You
3 years of proven experience managing a busy entertainment, hospitality, or leisure venue with multiple attractions.
Strong leadership and people management skills -- you know how to motivate teams and handle high-pressure situations.
Commercially astute, with a track record of growing sales and repeat business.
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the venue looks and performs at its best at all times.
Comfortable working unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Hands-on attitude with the ability to balance operational duties and strategic management.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A passion for delivering memorable, tech-driven experiences.
Working Hours
Full-time position. The role requires flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and key trading periods.
Compensation
35k - 42k dependent on experience and profile.
