We're on the lookout for a warm, experienced Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team here at Deane Vets in Taunton, Somerset. If you love working with animals and people, and enjoy being the friendly face welcoming clients and their pets, this could be the perfect role for you!
Your days will be varied and rewarding--answering phones, booking appointments, managing payments, helping clients with health plans, and supporting the smooth running of our clinic. You'll be part of a great team, ensuring every visit is a positive experience for both pets and their owners. What You'll Be Doing:Greeting clients and their pets with a warm and compassionate smile
Managing appointments and diary bookings, including online and emergency slots
Handling calls, emails, and other client communications efficiently
Supporting clients with registrations for health plans and answering questions
Taking payments, cashing up, and managing client orders and prescriptions
Keeping reception, waiting areas, and consulting rooms clean, welcoming, and well-stocked
Helping out with general admin and ongoing training

Who We're Looking For
If you've got experience in a busy veterinary practice or a similar customer-focused role, and you're friendly, organised, and love working with people and pets, we'd love to hear from you! Great communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Minimum of 1 year office-based experience. Good level of education (minimum 5 GCSEs Grade C or above). Reliable with excellent time management skills.
This role is very busy but is truly rewarding and fulfilling.
Experience Required:At least 1 year working as a Veterinary Receptionist (preferred)
At least 1 year in customer service (essential)
Your shift pattern
This is a Part-time, permanent role (Average 24.5 hours/week, excluding lunch/breaks), evening shifts between 2 pm and 7 pm Monday to Friday as the rota needs plus every other Saturday 8 am-1 pm
