Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C. is a community-interest company dedicated to tackling the pandemic of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) within the Black British and Caribbean community. Through truth-telling, advocacy, and systemic change, we are committed to breaking cycles of silence and abuse while creating safer, healthier spaces for our children and families.

Volunteer CIC Solicitor/Lawyer
, you will help us navigate compliance, safeguarding law, contracts, and potential legal challenges. Your expertise will ensure that we operate with integrity, remain compliant with regulations, and are protected against risks -- enabling us to focus on frontline work with survivors and community members.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on compliance, safeguarding, data protection, and CIC governance.
Review and draft contracts, partnership agreements, and policies.
Ensure our safeguarding policies are legally robust and protective of both survivors and the organisation.
Support the CIC board with legal compliance for funding, reporting, and public accountability.
Advise on potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Skills & Qualities Needed
Qualified solicitor/lawyer with experience in charities, CICs, or community organisations.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, data protection, and UK compliance law.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to simplify legal language for non-legal audiences.
Empathy, discretion, and a strong ethical foundation.
Commitment to social justice and supporting communities impacted by CSA.
Ad Hoc Duties
You may be asked to attend board meetings, contribute to funding applications, or advise on specific cases where legal frameworks are involved.
