Express Appliances Ltd is a family-owned business located in Ardleigh, near Colchester, Essex. We specialise in refurbishing household white goods appliances for rental and provide our own in-house delivery and installation services.
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated General Warehouse Operative to join our team in Ardleigh. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our operations by ensuring efficient handling of appliances and supporting our refurbishment process, contributing to our mission of providing quality service to our customers. Within this role is a supporting element to the delivery team, the successful applicant will be utilised to assist the delivery team in terms of holiday and sickness.
Responsibilities
Operate sack barrows safely to move appliances within the warehouse.
Manage inventory using warehouse management systems.
Handle materials efficiently during the refurbishment process.
Assist with stocking and organizing warehouse space.
Perform heavy lifting and ensure safe loading/unloading of appliances.
Participate in picking and packing orders for delivery.
Preparation and repainting of white goods appliances, experience a bonus but not required.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure workplace.
Experience as a General Operative or similar role in a warehouse environment is beneficial, but not necessary.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Team player with good communication skills.
Ability to offer support across other departments (Information on request)
