Overview

A position has become available for a full time member of the team based in the South East to join our thriving and expanding family run business at Milborrow Chimney Sweeps and Croydon Fireplaces

We are seeking a Warehouse Worker to join our team in managing stock and fulfilling orders and parts in a working yard of containers and storage and warehouse environment alongside maintaining the yard and outside areas. Potential emergency deliveries locally in company vehicle.

In the process you will also learn about wood and multi fuel burning, gas, electric and bio-ethanol appliances and their installation and associated maintenance and works.

We are an independent expanding Company based in the South East of England, offering complete comprehensive chimney service to a growing customer database of >82,000 customers and currently have >35 members of staff within offices and out on the road working around the South East of England 365 Days a year. We are HETAS, Gas Safe, Construction Line and Safe Contractor Registered and hold Two Royal Warrants. Croydon Fireplaces has a showroom of >110 appliances across 50+ top brands they supply through Premier and Expert Retailer accounts with an onsite warehousing of >400 appliances in stock for immediate installation together with parts, spares etc as required.

Duties

- 7:30am Start; Monday - Friday due to operatives being in the yard/warehouse to load up and begin their days.

- Utilise the incoming new warehouse management system to track inventory and orders and products.

- Stock products and prepare for works and build pallets for shipping

- Load and unload delivery vehicles from vans to lorries

- Handle heavy lifting of goods when necessary

- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks

- Assist in maintenance and tidiness of all areas internally and externally

- Assist in workshop tasks with equipment and machinery with simple tasks.

- Apply mechanical knowledge to operate equipment efficiently

- Perform picking and packing duties accurately

Experience

- No particular prior experience is necessary; character, intelligence, the right attitude and the ability to learn and listen are much much more important.

- Previous experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous but not essential

- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment as a team player.

- Willingness to get stuck in and assist as required in works

Qualifications

- Full manual driving license is preferable.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-13.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
