Job Description

Overview


To manage an efficient operation of the Warehousing & Distribution service in terms of organisation, management, physical logistics processes and stock. Further, to train the team to maximise productivity and ensure a first class HSE performance is achieved

Duties



To satisfy in a timely manner, sales order requirements inclusive of the preparation of stock for loading and the actual loading of external vehicles, including reporting of order matters, out of stock, low stock, items not picked / not despatched

To effectively and efficiently manage the team to maximise productivity whilst minimising damage and waste, including assignment of tasks and targets, performance management, delegation

Efficient utilisation of on-site storage facilities including planning ahead

Utilisation of warehouse management software - stock management and floor plan design and order matter support and monitor performance

To ensure stock is received and located in a timely, efficient and accurate manner (3 hour window for containers)

To ensure inventory control and stock management is maintained including conducting regular stock audits and location availability

Liaison with Shipping teams in terms of couriers and monitor for daily requirements

To co-ordinate and forecast all working hours in terms of normal working, short time additional hours, overtime hours, temporary labour and other eventualities as may be required ensuring full availability for all Warehouse requirements

Work with Technical Support team in relation to stock and availability as may be required

Ensure all approved work instructions are adhered to including those presented by the Managing Director - daily / weekly monitoring and reporting

To ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained to the highest manufacturers or suppliers' standards

Lead continuous improvement on site identifying areas of non-value added activities

Facility management in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager, ie. security, HSE, fire, utilities, CCTV, contractors, maintenance / servicing,

Key performance indicator reporting to Managing Director

Budgetary management

To manage employee relations in terms of absence, welfare, communication, involvement, probation, induction, training, performance reviews and dispute resolution in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager

Health, safety and environmental supervision for the Warehouse areas

To develop employees within all areas of responsibility in line with objectives to ensure competency across all levels

Core Competencies



Warehouse process and procedural experience and knowledge

Must possess previous experience of working with WMS

Transport and distribution process and procedural experience and knowledge

Extensive leadership and people management experience

Experience of performance measurement and management thereof

Exposure to LEAN methodology

Excellent and processional I.T., communication, administration, planning, reporting, delegation and organisational skills

Continuous improvement skills

Resilient, proactive, professional, problem solver

Able to build professional business relationships at all levels

Health, safety and environment supervision

Project management, analytical and budgetary skills

Current counterbalance / reach license
