Warehouse Manager

Location: Mustang Park, Daventry

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:30. 30 mins unpaid meal break each day

Salary: up to 45,000 per annum

Job Summary:


As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will ensure that warehouse operations run smoothly, manage a team of warehouse staff, and implement processes to improve productivity and safety.

The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach in shaping the role, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving productivity to support business growth.

Key Accountabilities



Act as the operational leader for the Mustang Park warehouse ensuring professional, cost effective and efficient methods of warehouse operations Develop and maintain key customer relationships, internal and external, ensuring accurate information flows and the effective resolution of service delivery issues To demonstrate leadership by initiating and implementing continuous improvements and cost saving plans throughout the warehouse departments to optimize efficiency and profitability To ensure that the warehouse operations complies with all budgetary, service, security, stock integrity, health and safety, quality and other legal requirements Manage stock across multiple sites to ensure stock availability at Mustang Park for continuous picking. Work with external companies to organise stock in and out of their facilities. To ensure communication processes are in place to promote regular and effective communication to warehouse staff of all matters including operations, strategy, Group information, HR, health & safety and training etc. Lead and manage the warehouse teams ensuring they are working to the required standards, individually and as a team by encouraging ownership of tasks, identifying and using natural talent, actively reviewing progress, agreeing personal training and development needs To minimize labour costs, both direct and indirect by ensuring that overtime and agency costs are managed within budget To ensure that equipment costs are minimized by effective control of usage and maintenance To demonstrate a full understanding of how Warehouse activity impacts on wider NX financials Operational floor presence Responsible for laying out and mapping efficient and free flowing warehouse floors Develop and motivate the teams to achieve planned targets and deadlines by providing coaching, guidance and encouragement Manage employee relations activity, such as absence and performance management, disciplinary proceedings and ensure the training and development of the operation is carried out in line with Company policies and procedures Ensure that all relevant standard operating procedures are regularly reviewed, updated and trained out to the operation Deal with accident reporting, investigations and insurance Customer onboarding and set up

WMS duties will include:



Identifying improvement opportunities. Change management within the team. Create and maintain internal documentation as support material for on-the-job training. Ensuring all internal documentation is structured. Ensuring thorough knowledge of WMS user's daily routines to provide input and to support users. Find solutions to WMS issues, understanding the reason behind each activity, analysing, and sharing information. Create an atmosphere of continuous improvement for all WMS users. Train WMS users and encourage them to find solutions. Listen to WMS users' ideas, problems, issues, and work with them to add value.

Security



Ongoing promotion of crime prevention awareness to all staff Conduct or be integral to Site Security Assessments & Audits Submit incident reports when required Install a general culture of Crime Prevention Own, advise and act upon any security concerns.

General



Ensure the high level of Health, safety and welfare of all self and others through adherence to the Health and Safety statement and policy Responsible for legislative compliance for all operational related Health & Safety issues and equipment management Adhere to all relevant standard operating procedures and safe systems of work at all times Keep all warehouse areas clean and tidy and operate 'clean as you go' Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work

Skills and Experience



Substantial, existing experience working as a Warehouse Manager in a fast-paced palletised/3PL warehouse or parcel network Qualifications in the supply chain/ logistics field, or qualified by relevant experience Excellent interpersonal skills, high level of personal gravitas Highly computer literate with experience of a Warehouse Management System or similar systems Experience of working with KPIs to drive process improvements Flexibility in working hours Strong team ethic, aligned to continuous improvement culture Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent relationship building and customer facing skills Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and ambition Excellent organisational skills and able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering consistent quality in a time-constrained operation Be a proven leader and motivator of staff, and be able to develop a team, ensuring that they are well informed, motivated and managed effectively to achieve personal goals as well as operational KPI's Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others Good understanding of vehicle capacities Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and customer service Sound judgement and decision-making skills Able to work to time sensitive deadlines and prioritise work Able to pay strict attention to detail Willing to challenge established practices
The interview process will involve a 10 minute presentation.

Due to the nature of our business you will be required to complete a standard DBS check that will provide us with criminal record information.
