The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, from receiving job sheets and drawings to the final dispatch of goods. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and an ability to manage people and processes in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full production lifecycle from interpretation of job sheets/drawings to finished product loading for dispatch.
Supervise and coordinate a team of 5-7 staff including fabricators, welders, and yard personnel.
Ensure daily production targets and delivery deadlines are met without compromising on quality.
Conduct routine inspections to maintain high standards of fabrication, tidiness, and workplace safety.
Monitor and manage staff performance, discipline, timekeeping, and morale.
Liaise closely with office staff and clients to ensure jobs are accurately fabricated to specification.
Oversee material planning, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
Enforce and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ensure all fabrication processes comply with relevant standards and company procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a steel fabricator, team leader, or production supervisor within a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of steel fabrication methods, machinery, and reading technical drawings.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively, especially under tight deadlines.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High standards in cleanliness, discipline, and workplace safety.
Physically fit and willing to work extended hours when required.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on leadership style.
