The Role
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and proactive
Youth Support Workers
to join our growing team. You will work directly with young people to promote independence, safety, and personal development, while maintaining a positive and professional environment within the home.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day emotional and practical support to young people aged 16-25.
Encourage independence through cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and daily living tasks.
Support young people with education, training, and employment goals.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and appropriate boundaries at all times.
Record accurate daily logs, incident reports, and key-work notes.
Support and implement individual care and support plans.
Respond calmly to challenging behaviour and follow risk management procedures.
Maintain the home's cleanliness, safety, and welcoming atmosphere.
Carry out needs and risk assessments, complete support plans, provide support, and carry out reviews, in accordance with our policies and procedures and the requirements of stakeholders and funders.
Helping customers reach their goals and live the life they want by giving them one-on-one support, guidance and coaching.
Promote the integration of our customers into the local community and provide opportunities by which they will be enabled to develop skills and have access to the widest possible range of experiences.
Support customers to sustain their housing and identify move on opportunities which meets their future needs.
Participate in customer reviews, team meetings and training courses.
Liaise promptly with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders regarding
safeguarding, welfare and risk concerns in accordance with our procedures.
Work as part of a team to achieve service objectives as identified by the contract requirements.
Always maintain safe practice
Promptly report any complaints, accidents or unusual incidents to the relevant person.
Undertake any other duties as assessed by your Manager in line with the needs of the service.
Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest standard, and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Ensure that the tenants needs are met by liaising with other organisations providing access to community-based services and resources.
Requirements:
Previous experience in youth work, supported accommodation, residential care, or a similar role (desirable but not essential -- full training provided).
Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or willingness to work towards it.
